At Rapha, we never want finances to get in the way of you getting the care that you need!
Should I use my Insurance?
There are a lot of benefits to using insurance, but there are also some drawbacks to consider. Insurance companies require an official diagnosis for all clients. In-network therapists are bound by the rules and regulations determined by your insurance company; therefore, I am required to work within them, and this may affect the focus of your therapy. In addition, you may be uncomfortable having an “official” diagnosis in general or prefer the freedom of working towards your goals without the influence of your insurance company.
When deciding whether to pay the insurance deductible or self-pay, it is worthwhile considering factors such as the cost of your deductible (if applicable), your financial situation, and the potential impact on your insurance premiums.
This does not mean you shouldn’t use your insurance, however! Insurance may allow you to save some money, which I know could be a deciding factor. Many of the areas discussed in this letter may simply not bother you, and that is ok. The most important thing is that you are able to make an informed decision that best meets your needs.
