Welcome to
Rapha Counseling & Family Therapy

I love to help families, couples, and individuals as they navigate conflict, communication difficulties, anxiety, and life-transitions. I recognize that we are the product of many influences including the families and cultures we come from, relationships we choose to enter, circumstances and choices we make or have been made for us, etc. When you begin to understand where you come from and who you are, it helps you move in the direction you want to go. It’s my pleasure to walk beside you on your journey as you move toward healing, wholeness, and happiness. You don’t have to do this alone…let’s walk this road together.

Individual Counseling

Individual work begins with you and I determining together the best treatment plan to meet your individual therapeutic goals. I integrate my own unique background (such as my multi-cultural and military family experiences), with your own story, and we will begin your therapy with the question “what makes you, you?” Whether you are seeking to learn life skills (such as anger management, communication, etc.), struggling with anxiety, or dealing with a diagnosis such as Bipolar, I intend to provide a directive approach that will help you to make real changes in your life.

Couples Counseling

When two people are willing to do the work, every relationship is redeemable and able to last for the long haul. We will work together to improve communication, learn conflict resolution skills, build/rebuild trust, and build connection with our significant other. Trained in Gottman Level 2 with the influence of Family Focused Therapy, we integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, to determine the best treatment to reach your relationship goals. Whether you are pre-marital, just starting out, or have been married forever, when we work through our struggles, it’s sweeter on the other side.

Family Therapy

Families are complicated, and we all wish to break the negative cycles learned from our families of origin. I tell my kids regularly that I will never mess them up the way my parents messed me up…I plan to find all new ways to mess them up. Whether you are seeking to learn better communication or conflict resolution skills, want help transitioning through life’s challenges, and/or are working to mend broken relationships, there is hope for every family. There is no such thing as a “normal family” and sometimes it can get really dirty. I am willing to get into the mud with you and dig alongside your family, as you seek to be in a healthier place.
